The day the 80's returned

Every fall my bank spends 6 weeks collecting money from the associates and our customers who would like to donate to the American Heart Association. Each week on Friday, we have a theme to get the customers excited about donating. One week we had Hula for Hearts (it was awesome, but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures), then we had Hats for Hearts, and this last week it was Hair for Hearts. Our theme was 80's hair...

Some of the tellers went all out, even dressing up for the day. Sorry, but I didn't get any pictures of them either. I took these pics with my cell phone when I got home. I didn't have any 80's clothes, so I decided to go all out with my hair. I had to look up online directions for teasing my hair as I'd never done it before. I could only guess at what I was doing, but everyone loved how it turned out. I even got called back from lunch so I could show a customer my hair. Me, I was so embarrassed I wanted to call in sick. I couldn't wait to get home and wash it out.

No, my hair did not eat my face. This is the back of my head...

The color of my hair blends in with the curtain. The arrow shows just how tall it was.

The next day, I couldn't stop touching my hair to feel how soft (and not tall) it was. Now I finally understand the phrase "Narly, dude!!"

I wish my hair could do that. Bummer.

But, you look great. Beautiful in spite of (or because of?... nah...) your huge 80's hair.

Love ya. Glad you had fun!

Hooray for big hair! I don't miss those teasing days.

Great pics. What a fun place to work - that's neat to have those theme days.

I haven't met your Aunt Mar, but between what I've heard from you and my friend Valerie C. - she sounds wonderful! A great someone to look up to.
