I am grateful for today for many reasons. My sister is on her way to spend the holiday with our grandparents and other extended family. I wish I could join them, but I am excited for some quality time with my dad.
One bad thing about trying to surprise Dad with pie is that he was already prepared. He bought a few... so I am only making one pie. Store bought pies are okay, but there's nothing like homemade. My aunt sent me the recipe, and I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.
I am grateful for blankets, jeans, socks, sweatshirts, gloves, and all other items I can wear or cozy into as the temperature rapidly drops. Every time I step outside today, it seems to be 10 degrees colder. Oh yeah, I am grateful for hot chocolate with cinnamon too!
I am grateful for my puppies who provide a welcome distraction today. They are CRAZY, but adorable. Maia especially seems in tune with my moods. I've never had a pet so uncannily aware of me, or (seem to) try to comfort me before. Maggie too is becoming more aware of my moods, or maybe it's just competition. The dogs compete for everything, whether they need to or not. I tell them there's a reason God gave me two hands... It's because He knew I'd have two dogs. I don't think they quite believe my logic...

One of these years, we will ALL get together in CO for Thanskgiving at my house, OK? Could be fun!
