I Am Thankful for Donuts

It's usually a Halloween tradition for my aunt and her family to host a homemade donut party for their friends. It seems like half the town shows up. Due to scheduling conflicts my aunt and her family decided to reschedule the event and had the party tonight.

As usual, it was a blast. There were kids running around everywhere and grownups taking time to catch up with each other while munching on fabulous donuts and other snacks. My favorite part was spending the evening in the kitchen with my aunt frying. It seemed like we would barely get the donuts out of the fryer and they would disappear.

I am so glad Aunt Mar didn't have to cancel the donut party this year. I love getting to catch up with her and my uncle and cousins. I especially love feeling like I can help out. My aunt has done so much for me and though flipping donuts in a fryer in no way compares, at least I feel like I'm giving a little something back.

I am thankful that you could come over as well. We love having you, and yes, you were a great help! Thanks for hangin' in there with me!

I love our donut tradition as well. It is a wonderful way for us to TREAT as many friends as we can all at once.

What a great tradition. I would love to know what she uses for the dough. That sounds like a fun thing to try and make.
